Our Grade 4 students went to the Penh Lenh jewelry shop as the exit point to their “Fashion” IPC unit. The students have been learning about the history of fashion and jewelry and we put a special focus on the Egyptian period.
This field trip allowed our learners to understand the craft of jewelry making and they were lucky to have witnessed the ladies there making beautiful earrings, bracelets and necklaces made from gold and precious gems from Cambodia. Some of the pieces of jewellery took up to three days to make!
It was a privilege to be allowed to visit this special shop and our students had a wonderful time connecting their classroom lessons with real world experiences!
