It is a great pleasure to be the Principal of ZISPP and an honor to work with such wonderful students, staff and families to help develop the next generation of leaders in Cambodia.
Our mission is to offer the best-value school for private international education and STEM learning in Cambodia. Every day we strive to provide a safe learning environment for our students that is both challenging and engaging. We provide academic, social, and moral guidance so that our students are ready to face the challenges and responsibilities of global citizenship.
Here at Zion we all work together to prepare our students with the knowledge, values, and skills necessary to maximize their individual potential. Every student is unique and we care for each child in a way that values the different talents, interests and enthusiasm that they bring to school each day. In this way we aspire to develop socially conscious leaders who are ready to make positive, active contributions to Cambodia and the world.
At ZISPP we believe students learn best when they are actively engaged in solving meaningful problems, that is why we use the IEYC and IPC curricula. They are specifically structured to help children learn how to learn so that they will develop a thirst to always be learning and doing. Units are project-based so our children focus on a specific subject and they dive deep into that subject matter by asking questions, exploring ideas, and learning how to solve problems within that topic. Our students learn by doing, rather than just passively listening, and become engaged by the world around them. They take the knowledge they have acquired in class and get to apply it to real-world scenarios so that they are equipped to handle the many different situations they will encounter throughout their lives.
At ZISPP we believe in developing the whole student both mind and body which is why we offer a robust physical education and extra-curricular programs that teach students about the value of teamwork, cooperation and personal goal setting. Additionally we have a state-of-the-art computer lab with cutting edge educational applications that enable us to build on the strengths of traditional classroom based learning. Students get the opportunity to creatively apply what they learn in the classroom and become empowered to apply science, technology, engineering, and mathematics in a creative context so that they will be ready to face the future in today’s increasingly interconnected world.
Our goal is to have all of our students develop the values of respect, cooperation, persistence and striving for excellence. We teach children to be responsible for their own behavior and the choices that they make. Our teachers also help students to understand their responsibility within their communities, to assist their peers to do the same. In this way our students acquire self-esteem and develop personal goals along with a healthy and respectful tolerance for others.
Here at ZISPP we are just getting started, we have so much planned for the future and we are excited to take this journey together. This year we have added Khmer curriculum and grade 5, next year we will move forward with grade 6 and beyond. We have big plans for Zion and we are working towards the day when we will have a purpose built campus of our own.
We are moving forward together with great enthusiasm and anticipation of the new opportunities that will enhance our school program and community as a whole. As a Principal, I am happy to hear from parents and my door is always open should you wish to meet with me.
